Foster Parents Wanted!

Since 1992, Pets In Need has operated a highly successful program focused on giving unweaned and orphaned kittens a second chance. We call this effort the Kitten Rescue Project. For approximately 8 months out of each year, kitten growth and development is a very important part of our work. Success in this endeavor is primarily due to the dedication of a special group of focused, energized, and devoted volunteers.

Dedicated volunteers provide in-home care for kittens under 8 weeks of age. This care can range from feedings every 2 hours (day and night) for kittens 1 - 4 weeks old, to just providing a safe, caring environment for a few healthy 4 - 8 week old kittens. Each volunteer is trained and then determines what age kittens s/he can handle.

We always need to recruit foster families to participate in this special project. This is not a volunteer job for everyone. Sometimes these under-age kittens are too small and too weak and don't survive. However, if you believe that every kitten deserves a second chance at life and you are willing to take a chance on caring, please call (650) 367-1405 today and sign up for one of the special training classes to help you with this challenging and most rewarding labor of love.

Won't you please volunteer or donate to this important project today!
