Pets In Need, Northern California’s first no-kill animal shelter, is proud to host its annual Pet Care Assistance Day, a community-focused event offering low-cost vaccines, microchips, flea prevention, dewormers, and pet supplies to local families in need on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
This year’s event is especially meaningful as it coincides with Pets In Need’s 60th anniversary of lifesaving service. As part of the celebration, the organization aims to help over 225 animals in a single day, furthering its mission of saving lives through compassion, access to care, and community support.

A beloved community tradition since 1948, the Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade is a celebration that attracts thousands of people every year to Downtown Los Altos. Traditionally, this free Los Altos Heritage Event is held annually on Saturday prior to Mother’s Day. Hundreds of kids and their pets — dogs, cats, birds, chickens, turtles and even worms — participate. Make sure to register your pets ahead of time.
