PLEASE NOTE: PETS IN NEED RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE A TRAINING DEPOSIT ON ANY DOG ADOPTED FROM OUR SHELTER. THIS DEPOSIT IS REFUNDABLE UPON PRESENTATION OF A VERIFIABLE COMPLETED CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME SPECIFIED AT THE TIME OF ADOPTION.

Oscar is a wonderful young Chihuahua mix who absolutely loves to meet new people. He gets along great with other dogs his own size, but he likes to take it nice and slow with larger ones. Oscar is also very interested in cats, but we do think he could learn to live in harmony with them. If you are looking for a wonderful companion, please come meet Oscar. You won’t ever feel lonely again!
   
 
Rhoda is an adorable little 6 month old puppy. She is a little shy at first meetings, but she warms up very quickly. She gets along great with other dogs (except her sister Mallory), and at six pounds we don't expect her to be a very large dog. She is very playful once she gets to know you. If you are looking for a great little dog who will bring you years of wonderful companionship, please come meet Rhoda!
   
 
Mallory is a very sweet 6 month old puppy. (She is Rhoda's sister.) She gets along great with other dogs, but she is very shy when first meeting people. She is blind in one eye, but the vet said it isn't bothering her so at this time no further treatment is necessary. Mallory has no idea she is supposed to see out of both eyes, and it hasn't slowed her down a bit! She is such a sweet, wonderful puppy who needs a nice, quiet family to help learn to trust humans again.
   
 
Tiger is a great little dog who would do well in almost any family. He loves to play, gets along well with other dogs, is respectful to cats, and loves to cuddle! What more could you ask for? Tiger is ready for his forever home...is that with you?
   
 
Gates This young boy got the name Gates, because he was thrown over our back gate into our parking area on one of the coldest nights of the year. The next morning staff found an absolutely terrified, pathetically thin little dog shivering from both cold and fright. It took a few hours and a can of really stinky cat food to convince him that we were his friends and wanted to help. He has certainly forgiven humans for that awful night, and he would love to go to a home where he will never have to worry about anything bad happening to him again. Gates gets along great with other dogs (no cats!), and he loves going for walks on the leash and playing. He would make a great addition to your family!
   
 
Alfie is 5 years young. This frisky fellow would make a great jogging buddy, or if you are looking for someone to help you keep your New Year's resolution of getting off the couch, Alfie would be great. He loves playing and chasing balls, but he also would love to curl up next to you after a busy day and just keep you company.
   
 
Rosie is a wonderful Border Collie mix who will "herd up" your heart with one look into her gorgeous eyes! She is around 4-5 years old. Rosie needs to go to a home with prior dog experience, and one who understands herding breeds. Although she knows some basic commands, Rosie needs someone who is willing to further her education (She loves to learn!). As a herder, she also likes to be kept busy, and her ideal home would be an active one. Rosie is recommended for an adults only home.
   
 
Mike is a very cute Chihuahua mix who is ready for a new home! He is still young at only around two. He can be a little reserved at first meetings, but he warms up very quickly. He does get along with other dogs after a proper introduction. Mike is the kind of dog who likes to take things a bit slow until he gets used to things. He would be best in a quieter home that would give him the time and love he needs to blossom into the great dog we know he is. If you are looking for a new best friend, Mike may be just the one for you!
   
 
Kirsty is a frisky terrier mix who will bring lots of fun and excitement to your life. She would be a great agility dog, and she would love an active family. She is a great size and could accompany you camping, hiking, and just about anywhere your adventures carry you. She is a wonderful dog who would be a great addition to just about any home.
   
 
Malcolm Just gaze into his wonderful brown eyes and how can you resist? This absolutely wonderful 1 year old would make a wonderful addition to just about any family. He is very quiet and observant, and loves to cuddle. Malcolm loves meeting new people, and he gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction. Please come meet Malcolm, but be prepared to fall in love!
   
 
Steffan is a 6 years young, very active and playful Border Collie mix. Early on he let us know that he was uncomfortable meeting new dogs, but he attended training and has learned that meeting new dogs doesn't have to be so stressful if done properly. His ideal home would be one that would continue his training so that he can enjoy a life without stress. We are recommending that Steffan go to a home with prior dog experience, and if he went to a family with children they should be older (15+) and experienced living with dogs. He should be the only pet in the home. (He is way too interested in cats for their liking Steffan may be the best friend you ever had!
   
 
Randy was afraid of the world when he first came to our shelter. He has learned that all humans aren't bad, and he would love to go to a home that is quiet and patient and would give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. He does warm up quickly to kind words and a treat or two! Please come meet Randy, you won't be sorry!
   
 
Tammy is an adorable terrier mix! She gets along great with other dogs and just loves to meet people. She is a perfect size and could go just about anywhere with you. Tammy loves to be held and go for walks, and she loves playing but she knows when it's time to settle down for some TLC. Tammy is such a love bug. She promises you'll never have a dull moment (just look at that little face!) with her in your life!
   
 
Buddy To paraphrase a song…”I like big dogs! I do not lie!” Buddy is a big dog with a heart nearly as big as he is. He has had absolutely no training, but he is very bright and we know he would learn lots in obedience school. At 73 pounds, Buddy’s best match would be adults or a family with much older children. He is starting to learn some important basics, like “off,” and his idea new humans will help him continue learning so that he will be the best dog possible. Right now Buddy thinks he is a Chihuahua and that he’s a lap dog, but we know that he will be a wonderful addition to your home with a little training.
   
 
Max is very confused and lonely. His human died very suddenly, and Max had nowhere to go. He takes some time to warm up and get used to new surroundings. Gentle words and a nice lap go a long way with him! Max really has so much love and companionship to offer. Please come meet Max! He will thank you with years of unconditional love.
   
 
Sam is a little Poodle mix who is very shy at first meetings. He does warm up very quickly with kind words, and in just a few minutes he’ll be curled up in your lap. He gets along great with other dogs, and he pretty much just ignores cats. He does enjoy going for walks, but he most enjoys the pleasure of your company. Sam would be a great little dog for just about anyone!
   
 
Felix is a great little Rat Terrier mix who promises you will never have a dull moment ever again with him in your life! He gets along with smaller dogs after a proper introduction, and he enjoys going for walks and exploring. He is under a year so he is still learning how to be a great dog. If you are looking for a new best friend, it might just be Felix!
   
 
Sandy is a young Chihuahua mix who loves to play. She is very frisky and outgoing, and she gets along well with other dogs. She can be a little barky with cats, but she seems to respect them from a distance. Sandy is very energetic and would love a new home with as much energy as she has! If you and your family are on the go and want an active dog to share your adventures, Sandy may be the perfect match.
   
 
Edmond is around 3 years old. His ideal home would be a nice, quiet home with adults. We have discovered that he does not like to share so we believe he would do best in a home with prior dog experience and where he would be the only dog. Edmond enjoys going for long walks, and he would be a perfect companion for someone who spends a lot of time at home.
   
 
Walter is 9 years young and ready to go! He is feeling so much better since he had a good dental. He gets along great with other dogs, but he really loves to be with humans. He even does a little dance to show you how happy he is! Walter still has many years of love and companionship to offer. Please come meet him--but be prepared to fall in love!
   
 
Jackie is a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is looking for her forever home. She has had basic training and is housetrained. She would be perfect in a home with prior JR experience. She would also prefer to be the only dog, and unfortunately she thinks cats were invented especially for her to chase. She is very loving and sweet, and she has many years of wonderful companionship to offer. She would be great in a home that will give her lots of physical and mental stimulation.
   
 
Johnny is around 10 years old and is looking for a nice quiet home to spend his twilight years in. He would love an adults only home where his humans are around most of the time. He does enjoy the leisurely stroll, but he most enjoys just hanging out with his human. He would love to curl up with you while you watch TV or read a book.
   
 
Freddie We think Freddie is a large (54 pounds) Border Collie/Lab mix. He does not seem to have had any training at all in his short life, so his ideal new human will be one who will help this bright boy become the best dog possible. He is a larger dog and very strong, so we are recommending that he go to a home with adults with prior dog experience. He becomes very frightened when you try to restrain him, and he most unhappy at his recent visit to the vets. He learns very quickly, and we know he would be a wonderful dog in that just-right home. At only about 1.5 years old, Freddie would be at the top of his class in obedience school. It is a wonderful way to bond with him, and you’ll be rewarded with a great dog at graduation! He will thank you with many years of unconditional love and companionship.
   
 
Teddy is an adorable 6-year-old terrier mix. He gets along well with other dogs and is respectful around cats. He had been hit by a car and suffered a broken pelvis, but if you could see him running and playing you would never know. He loves going for walks. Teddy would be best in either a home with adults or a family with prior dog experience. He is a great little dog who will bring you years of unconditional love.
   
 
Willa is a great little Chihuahua mix. She is only about a year old, and she would love an active home. Willa would be a great hiking/walking/runny buddy. She is the kind of little dog who wants to go everywhere with you, and with some training she certainly could! Willa has a lot of love and friendship to offer. If you are looking for a wonderful little dog to share your life, why don’t you come meet Willa? Just be prepared to fall in love!
   
 
Jesse is quite a character. He is looking for a nice quiet adults only home that would help him get down to a nice, healthy weight. So, if you are looking for a diet/exercise buddy, Jesse may be just the guy for you! He really is a very loving, mature boy who will make that special someone a wonderful companion!
