In partnership with Willowmar Real Estate, we will be hosting a dog adoption event to find homes for and raise funds to support Pets In Need.

Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, we would love to see you & your pups there!

Gear up for the 21st annual Doggie Biscuit Hunt in Los Altos Hills! Join the furry frenzy as you and your dog explore Byrne Preserve on the quest for scrumptious, dog-healthy biscuits. Before the hunt, mingle with fellow pet parents at a coffee bar serving delightful human treats. Wagging tails are guaranteed at this on-leash event dedicated to supporting the Palo Alto Animal Shelter by Pets in Need. Low-cost dog and cat vaccines are available at our weekly vaccine clinic! The clinic runs every Wednesday from 10 am - 11 am at our Palo Alto shelter located at 3281 E. Bayshore Road, Palo Alto, CA. 

Online pre-check is required. Please fill out this form by 5 pm the day before the clinic. Any pre-check submitted on the day of the clinic will be applied to the next week’s clinic.

Foothill Music Theatre presents “Legally Blonde, the Musical” starring Pippa, a beloved 6-year-old chihuahua terrier mix currently in Pets In Need’s care, as “Bruiser Woods.”

“Legally Blonde, The Musical” is a 2007 musical with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and a book by Heather Hach. It is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name.

The show tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and she successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. Throughout the show, very few characters have faith in Elle, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.

Join us at Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 9 for a special adoption event! We will be at their Palo Alto location (3910 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto) from 1 - 4 pm with kittens and puppies. Stop by to meet your new furry family member!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

We’re excited to invite you to our second annual Pet Photos with Santa this Saturday, November 25 at our Palo Alto shelter!

We’ll supply an adorable photo setting and the big man in red—you just bring your pup, cat, bunny, or other pet(s) for some Santa photos to remember! We’ll also have some PIN shelter pets who will be happy to pose with you if your own pet isn’t up for traveling.

Help us Clear the Shelters this August! Once again we are partnering with NBC Bay Area and Telemundo 48 to Clear the Shelters in a month-long pet adoption and donation campaign that helps animals in need find loving homes.

Saturday, August 26 is Clear the Shelters Day! Join us to celebrate:

• Adoption fees will be discounted by 50% for ALL animals at both shelters.

• Mini Race: In celebration of Clear the Shelters Day, we are hosting a mini Race to Clear the Shelters! Team Top Dog, Team Cool Cat, and Team Hot Bun are cycling from our Redwood City shelter to our Palo Alto shelter. Help cheer them on online or come out in-person (9:00 a.m. in Redwood City or 9:30 a.m. in Palo Alto).

• Bunny 101: We are BURSTING with adoptable bunnies at our Palo Alto shelter! Our wonderful volunteer and rabbit expert Peggy will be hosting a Bunny 101 class to teach you everything about rabbits and help find these long-eared lovelies new homes.
