How does membership in the Pets In Need Legacy Society help save animals?

There are several ways that your membership will help save animals. Examples include:

  • General Support
Supports day-to-day operations, including rescue runs, medical care and treatment for the animals we rescue, and training and enrichment support for our residents.

  • Second Chance Fund
Helps special needs animals with medical or behavioral challenges that require life-saving surgery, specialized training, or ongoing treatment.

  • Crockett Memorial Fund
Gives low-income Bay Area pet owners a much-needed safety net for their animals’ medical needs. CMF is used to keep animals out of shelters and in their owner’s homes.

  • “Save our Kittens” program
Saves the lives of hundreds of neo-natal kittens, the animal population most at risk of being euthanized in public shelters, by underwriting costs of medical care, supplies, and equipment.

  • Bacon Memorial Fund
Was created to help hard-to-place animals find forever homes by providing financial support for their veterinary or behavioral care.

  • Capital and programmatic improvements (partial list)
    New surgical mobile van
    Digital X-ray machine
