Volunteer & Foster

Our volunteer team provides crucial exercise, socialization, training, and advocacy for our animals. We welcome people with a range of animal experience to sign up—from newbies to seasoned pet owners. Individuals 16 years or older may apply to volunteer at our Palo Alto animal shelter. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to obtain parental consent.

Due to a high volume of applications, recruitment for our Palo Alto shelter is currently on hold. You may still submit an application to be put on a waitlist to be contacted once orientations and volunteers shifts become available.

Fosters open their homes on a temporary basis, expanding our capacity to care for animals with special needs, such as very young animals or animals with medical or behavioral needs. We provide both supplies and support. Experienced or not, we welcome you to start fostering and saving lives today.
