Pippa's Journey: From homeless to “harvard” (in Legally Blonde)

Catch Pippa’s on-stage debut in “Legally Blonde, the Musical” playing from March 1 —March 17 at the Lohman Theater in Los Altos.

One of Pets In Need’s very own is about to get the star treatment. Pippa, a beloved 6-year-old chihuahua terrier mix currently in our care, is set to take center stage as “Bruiser Woods” in the upcoming production of "Legally Blonde the Musical" at the Lohman Theater in Los Altos! From being a homeless pup to now heading to Harvard (in the show), we’re thrilled that Pippa is getting her chance to shine!

To excel as an actor, a dog must possess a unique blend of qualities that go beyond basic obedience. Pippa is not only a lovable, entertaining pooch, she’s also mastered the art of sitting quietly in a designer bag. Patience and focus are essential for showbiz animals like Pippa, as they often undergo rigorous training and long hours on set. These skills not only make them stellar performers but also translate into being wonderful companions.

“Pippa is just the perfect little dog,” says Michelle Suarez, behavior specialist at Pets In Need. “She walks nicely on a leash, is housetrained, and is a social butterfly. She is a natural in her current role. I think if someone dedicated the time to teach her new tricks she would be amazing at whatever role she was needed in.”

After Pippa's turn on stage, she will be available for adoption, ready to embark on the next chapter of her journey with a loving family. Pippa’s ability to learn, adapt, and connect with people and environments makes her the perfect candidate for adoption. With her natural charm and eagerness to please, she brings joy and companionship to all she meets.

“Pipp LOVES to be around her people. She would be great in a home that could constantly surround her with company. She does great with polite dogs of any age and size and polite kids of any age and size.”

“Pippa is just the perfect little dog.”

"Legally Blonde" follows the journey of Elle Woods, a sorority girl determined to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner by enrolling at Harvard Law School. Along the way, she discovers her own resilience and the power of the law to help others. Despite facing skepticism and doubt from those around her, Elle stays true to herself, defying expectations and proving that she's more than just a pretty face. This musical adaptation is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the iconic 2001 film.

Just like the main character of Elle Woods, Pippa has faced challenges and obstacles, but her indomitable spirit and endearing personality have endeared her to all who meet her. We invite you to witness Pippa's debut performance in "Legally Blonde" at the Lohman Theater in Los Altos from March 1 — March 17. After the final curtain closes, consider opening your heart and home to her or any other animal from Pets In Need.

Join us in celebrating Pippa's journey from shelter to stage, and let's ensure that her story, much like Elle's, ends with a happily ever after. Get your tickets today and use code “Pippa” to save $15!
