1. Maui's Social Butterfly Status: Maui is a socialite in the doggy world! He wags his tail with glee when meeting new furry friends. Whether it’s a playful game of chase or a leisurely sniff-fest, Maui is the life of the canine party. He also loves everyone he meets. He adores children and his friendly, tolerant, and loving demeanor makes him an excellent companion for families, singles, and everyone in between.
2. Cuddle Champion: Prepare for a daily dose of snuggles! Maui's cuddle game is strong. He’ll curl up beside you (or on you!) on the couch or bed, nuzzle his head into your lap, and gaze at you with those soulful eyes. He's like your own personal weighted blanket. If you’re seeking a furry therapist to melt away stress, Maui is your guy. No amount of love is too much for Maui!
3. Adventure Enthusiast: Maui loves walks— and he's up for outdoor escapades! Whether it’s a serene neighborhood stroll, an energetic run, or a rugged mountain hike, Maui is up for the challenge. His tail wags faster when he spots the leash, and he’ll lead the way with manageable energy. Picture him trotting alongside you, ears flapping in the breeze, as you explore the world together.
4. Canine Einstein: Did we mention that Maui is a smarty-paw? He's a quick learner and thrives on mental stimulation. Teach him tricks and he'll master them fast and with enthusiasm. Maui knows sit, down, paw, leave it and is ready and willing to learn so much more. Just grab some treats (which he takes super gently) and watch his mind work its magic.

The Fine Print
Maui has a scholarship for two free training sessions with a certified trainer from Underdog Academy. Maui is a great hunter and thus will not do well in a home with small animals.

Maui was transferred to Pets In Need from one of our partner shelters in the Bay Area.
