"Care Doesn't Have to Be Out of Reach" - Dr. Stephanie Cataldo
A Passion Rooted in Compassion
“From a young age, animals made me laugh, filled my heart, and sparked a deep desire to protect them.”
Dr. Stephanie Cataldo was the kind of kid whose love for animals only grew with time. Her path to veterinary medicine came in naturally, rooted in compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for life.
After years of private practice and shelter medicine, she found her way to Pets In Need.
“It feels like the work I was always meant to do. Here, I get to practice the kind of medicine that honors both the animals and the human connection, while removing the barriers that keep people from accessing care.”
The Pets In Need Approach
Pets In Need provides high-quality, affordable care for families navigating real-world challenges: some come in for vaccines, others for ongoing care, and some just looking for answers.
“Access to care starts with listening. We never assume. We ask. We explain. We built trust.”
Through our Vaccine Clinics and Community Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Cataldo and our medical team go beyond treating symptoms. They empower pet owners with the knowledge and tools to care for their animals.
That might mean explaining why spay/neuter matters, discussing nutrition and preventive care, or easing fears when something unexpected comes up.
What National Pet Wellness Month Means
October is National Pet Wellness Month, and Dr. Cataldo wants the community to know that care doesn’t have to be out of reach.
“Vaccines, checkups, routine care: these things matter and there are accessible options.”
“We’re here to support. To problem solve. To help people make the best decision for their animals, even if it’s just one step at a time.”
Supporting Both Pets and People
At the end of the day, Dr. Cataldo says, the mission is clear:
“Supporting both pets and the people who love them, because when families feel supported, pets thrive.”
Preventive care is one of the most powerful ways to protect your pet, and it’s more accessible than you think. At Pets In Need, we offer low-cost vaccines, checkups, and compassionate veterinary care for families who need it most.
