WHat your gift will support

  • Save Our Kittens! Program:

This program saves neo-natal kittens from euthanasia. Kittens under the age of 8 weeks are the most vulnerable animals to enter shelters due to the resources and time commitment they require to survive. Your gift will support expenses associated with rescue and transport, supplies for foster families and medical care, and staff time from our medical, foster, adoption, and animal care teams.

  • Outreach Program:

Our outreach program provides a critical safety net for pet-owning families that are experiencing economic hardship. Our goal is to prevent owners from having to surrender their beloved pets to shelters or unnecessarily euthanize ill or injured pets because they cannot afford medical treatment.

  • Cause for Big Paws Program:

Large-breed dogs are incredibly susceptible to euthanasia in public shelters because they are more costly to care for and harder to adopt out compared to smaller dogs.  We made the commitment through our Cause for Big Paws program to rescue a minimum of 250 large breed dogs per year.

  • Behavior & Enrichment Resources:

Our behavior staff work with our residents daily and create individualized training plans for behaviorally challenged dogs and cats that come through our doors. For some pets, behavior and enrichment is key to their survival. Enrichment activities also help our cats and dogs stay active and mentally sound while they await their forever homes.

  • Second Chance Fund:

We often take in animals with severe injuries or health conditions that require specialized procedures. In the past, we have expended funds to treat puppies with parvo, animals with broken bones, extensive wounds and more. In addition to paying for medical procedures, we may send the animal to foster care and pay for any follow-up visits or physical therapy that is required. Your gift will help fund surgery and other medical procedures when these special-needs animals come into our care.

  • Humane Education for Low-Income Children and Teens:
We visit schools and community-based nonprofits in low-income communities to deliver our humane education curriculum, and offer free enrollment for low-income children to attend our camps and teen shadow program. We also deliver activities and lessons free of charge to hospitalized children and seniors within our Camp PIN Pals Buddy Box program.

  • Where The Needs Are Greatest:

Each year we rely on generous donors to ensure that we can rescue and serve thousands of animals, serve over 1,000 children and seniors through our humane education programs, recruit and retain at least 1,200 volunteers and foster families, provide emergency assistance to low-income pet owners, and much more. There are many moving parts to operating a successful no-kill animal shelter, and we appreciate the flexibility this type of donation provides. You can rest assured that we will put your donation to good use and make a meaningful impact on homeless animals in our community.
