Meet Maui, a big goofball with lots of energy and a heart full of love! This incredibly intelligent pup has mastered sit, shake, and down, showcasing his eagerness to learn and please. However, beneath his energetic exterior lies a desire for a calm, loving home environment.
Maui thrives in a tranquil setting where he can be a couch potato, away from the hustle and bustle of high-traffic areas that trigger his anxiety. He prefers a leisurely pace during walks, where he can explore and sniff to his heart's content once he feels comfortable.
Surprisingly, Maui has shown potential to coexist peacefully with feline friends. During a brief introduction with a cat, he displayed respect for the cat's space while still expressing playful excitement. With a gradual introduction and basic management, Maui could thrive in a home with cats.
While Maui enjoys moments of playfulness, he ultimately seeks a home that balances his need for mental and physical enrichment with plenty of love and attention. If you're ready to offer Maui a patient and understanding forever home, filled with both relaxation and playful adventures, he'll be your loyal companion for life!
The Fine Print
Maui has a scholarship for two free training sessions with a certified trainer from Underdog Academy. Maui is a great hunter and thus will not do well in a home with small animals.
History
Maui was transferred to Pets In Need from one of our partner shelters in the Bay Area.
